Montreal, QC — magicplan, a leader in AI-powered restoration and claims technology, today announced the release of magicplan PrecisionLink, a next-generation feature that connects Bluetooth-enabled laser distance meters directly to the app for precise, on-site measurements. As part of the development, magicplan collaborated with industry-leading manufacturers including Bosch, Leica, Stabila, Stanley / DeWalt, Hilti, and Johnson Level to make their laser distance meters fully compatible with the magicplan Editor, a live 2D/3D mobile CAD environment used for sketching, scoping, and estimating on-site.
With magicplan PrecisionLink, users gain full control over their measurements by connecting one of more than 20 supported laser distance meters. Dimensions are transferred instantly into the magicplan Editor, eliminating the need for tape measures, manual input, or reliance on 360 photo interpretation. Unlike other services that rely on cloud-based sketching, redrawn manually by someone offshore, magicplan PrecisionLink ensures that the person who’s on-site is the one capturing and locking in the data. Each laser measurement becomes a verified dimension, and the magicplan Editor’s algorithms automatically scale the surrounding geometry to match, guaranteeing 100% accuracy and preventing accidental edits. Professionals can leave the job site with a complete, trustworthy plan — ready for estimating and reporting.
“PrecisionLink is about giving control back to the professional on-site,” said Bernd Wolfram, CPO at magicplan. “You’re in the space. You know what matters. You can also verify that every measurement is exact and already integrated into your sketch or estimate before you even leave the job.”
This feature is especially valuable in scenarios where measurement accuracy is critical, such as large or complex spaces, kitchen installations, or tight-tolerance builds. While LiDAR scanning offers speed and convenience, magicplan PrecisionLink provides the pinpoint accuracy needed for exact dimensions like cabinet placements, diagonals, or custom layouts. magicplan PrecisionLink allows users to supplement scans with targeted measurements to ensure complete accuracy where it matters most.
Unlike tools that rely on cloud-based photo interpretation, PrecisionLink empowers professionals to verify every measurement on-site, even offline. This eliminates the risk of misjudged dimensions or dependency on backend teams, which can lead to delays, rework, or inaccurate estimates. With PrecisionLink, the person doing the measuring is the person who understands the scope — ensuring reliability and reducing the chances of costly callbacks.
magicplan PrecisionLink is built for restorers, contractors, adjusters, and field professionals who demand accuracy, speed, and full control over documentation. It reinforces magicplan’s mission to provide an all-in-one mobile solution for capturing, planning, and estimating — with confidence, on-site.
magicplan is the first real-time collaborative field documentation platform for restoration and claims professionals. By leveraging AI-powered spatial data capture, automated sketching, and seamless estimating, magicplan simplifies workflows, improves accuracy, and reduces costs. With millions of projects created worldwide, magicplan sets the standard for fast, flexible, and transparent field documentation. Learn more at www.magicplan.app.
